Selsey: Carnival - featured image

Description

Set 163. In the High Street, looking towards the junction with Station Road (now Church Road). The far building is still on the corner. Hand written note on photo “Selsey Carnival 1949-52. Harold and Harry on Broadspeed bike. Got a prize and Harry got a cold”. They are outside newsagent A Humphry, which has decorations round the window with a crown at the top and possibly a picture of the Queen on a billboard leaning outside, so probably the Coronation Carnival, June 1953. The Bill Cake shop on the corner appears to have the same window decoration as in SPP/1/1/114.
